QuoteIQ Job Costing, Timesheets and GPS: Which Plan Does What
QuoteIQ splits its money-and-crew tools across two tiers. Job costing, which shows profit per job, starts on Pro. Timesheets, live GPS tracking and the EmployeeHub crew tools start on Elite. Here's what each does and where the gaps are.

Good per-job profit tracking from Pro; full timesheets and GPS need Elite. Job costing works out Price − Labor − Expenses = Profit on Pro ($199.99/mo). Time Tracker Pro, GPS location tracking and EmployeeHub are Elite ($299.99/mo). There's no payroll, and GPS is phone-based only.

Job costing
QuoteIQ's job costing uses a simple formula: Price − Labor − Expenses = Profit, worked out per job from the revenue, labor and expenses recorded against it. On Elite and up, job timers from Time Tracker Pro feed labor hours into it automatically. On Elite, inventory also links to job costing, so materials used on a job can count against it. Expense tracking, which supplies the expenses side, starts on Beginner. Pro also adds an Hourly Rate Calculator to help set the labor rate in the first place.
One conflict to know about: QuoteIQ's job-costing page says it's "included on ALL QuoteIQ plans—Beginner, Pro, Elite, and Max". The help-center plan matrix, the pricing page and QuoteIQ's own Housecall Pro comparison all say Pro and up. We go with Pro.
Timesheets: Time Tracker Pro
- Clock in and out, with breaks.
- Manual time entries for when someone forgets.
- Timesheet review before approval.
- CSV export with rates, pay, breaks and totals, ready for whatever payroll you use.
- Job timers that feed job costing.
QuoteIQ says "Time Tracker Pro on Elite and above."
GPS tracking, EmployeeHub and permissions
- Location tracking shows a live map of employees "while they're clocked in". It needs a cellular or data connection and uses the phone, not vehicle hardware.
- EmployeeHub brings together GPS, time tracking, dispatch, crews, messaging, sales tracking and roles.
- Roles & Permissions covers "28 screens and 88 individual permissions", so you can limit what each person sees, such as hiding pricing from a new tech.
- Team communication: DMs, crew chats and announcements.
Which plan includes what
| Tool | Plan |
|---|---|
| Expense tracking | Beginner ($99.99) and up |
| Job costing, Hourly Rate Calculator | Pro ($199.99) and up |
| Time Tracker Pro, GPS location tracking, EmployeeHub | Elite ($299.99) and up |
| Roles & permissions, team communication, inventory | Elite ($299.99) and up |
| Crews, Sales Team Tracker and commissions | Max ($699.99) |
Some QuoteIQ feature pages, including location tracking, still quote older prices. The figures here are from the current pricing page. Crews are also available on Elite plans bought before April 2, 2026.
Credit costs
None of these tools appear in QuoteIQ's list of credit-charged actions. Credits only come in if you use AI features alongside them, such as Ask AI reports.
How a contractor uses it day to day
On Pro, the habit that makes job costing useful is logging expenses against the job as they happen: materials receipts, dump fees, subcontractors. Then each finished job shows whether the price you quoted actually made money, which feeds back into your price book. On Elite, crew members clock in on their phones, timers run against each job, and you review and export timesheets weekly for payroll. The live map helps the office answer "where's the crew?" without calling them.
Limits and gotchas
- Clear per-job profit formula from Pro
- Timesheet CSV export with pay and breaks
- 88 permissions to control what staff see
- Job timers feed labor into job costing on Elite
- Timesheets and GPS need Elite at $299.99/mo
- On Pro, labor hours aren't fed in by Time Tracker Pro
- No payroll: you still need a payroll tool
- GPS is phone-only and needs a data connection
QuoteIQ's own Housecall Pro comparison says it does no payroll, bookkeeping, business financing or expense cards. And on tracking: "If you need to see the truck rather than the phone, we cannot help you."
How it compares with Jobber and Housecall Pro
Housecall Pro's pricing page lists job costing on its Basic plan ($79/mo monthly, $59 annual), and QuoteIQ's own comparison concedes HCP "still wins on … job costing." For Jobber, our research doesn't cover which plans include job costing or timesheets, so check Jobber's pricing page; for HCP's timesheet and GPS details, check Housecall Pro's page. Among smaller tools, Markate lists job costing and time tracking on its entry plan, and Kickserv lists time and expense tracking on its $60/mo Start plan.

Job costing and timesheet questions
Which QuoteIQ plan includes job costing?
Job costing starts on Pro at $199.99/mo for four users. QuoteIQ's job-costing page claims it's on all plans from Beginner, but the help-center plan matrix, the pricing page and QuoteIQ's own Housecall Pro comparison all say Pro and up. Plan on needing Pro, and confirm in the trial.
Does QuoteIQ have timesheets?
Yes. Time Tracker Pro handles clock in and out, breaks, manual entries and timesheet review, with a CSV export showing rates, pay, breaks and totals. It's on Elite at $299.99/mo and Max. On Elite, job timers also feed labor hours into job costing automatically.
Can QuoteIQ run payroll?
No. QuoteIQ's own Housecall Pro comparison says it does no payroll, bookkeeping, business financing or expense cards. Time Tracker Pro's CSV export of hours, rates and pay is the hand-off point, so you'd send that to your payroll provider or accountant. QuickBooks Online sync is available from Pro.
Does QuoteIQ track my trucks with GPS?
It tracks phones, not trucks. On Elite and up, location tracking shows employees on a live map while they're clocked in, using their phone and a data connection. QuoteIQ says it has no vehicle hardware GPS, so fleet tracking for vehicles would need a separate product.
What is EmployeeHub?
EmployeeHub is QuoteIQ's crew management area on Elite and Max. It combines GPS location tracking, time tracking, dispatch, crews, messaging, sales tracking and roles. Crews and the Sales Team Tracker are Max features, or Elite for plans bought before April 2, 2026. Roles and permissions cover 88 settings.
