For a solo owner or a small crew that lives on quotes, QuoteIQ is the better buy: a lower entry price, AI estimating everywhere and measuring from Beginner. Housecall Pro is stronger if you need cheap online booking, job costing on the entry plan, payroll, a Spanish crew app, or a trial with no card.
Start with three numbers
- How many people log in? QuoteIQ includes 1, 2, 4, 10 or 20 users by tier. Housecall Pro includes 1 on Basic, 5 on Essentials and 8 on Max, with extra Max users at $35/mo.
- Do customers book themselves? If yes, Housecall Pro has it from Basic. QuoteIQ makes you climb to Elite.
- How many estimates a week? The more you quote, the more QuoteIQ's AI Estimator and measuring tools pay off.

What QuoteIQ says about Housecall Pro
QuoteIQ's comparison is titled “Same Price. No Sales Call.” Its core claim: Housecall Pro MAX is $299/mo for eight users, while QuoteIQ Elite is about the same price for ten, with the business phone, mass campaigns, pipelines and 24/7 AI call answering already included. Note the $299 figure is Housecall Pro's annual rate; monthly, its own page shows $329. Elite is $299.99 monthly.
What makes QuoteIQ's page worth reading is what it concedes. It says Housecall Pro “still wins on $59 online booking, job costing, and a Spanish-speaking crew app,” and calls the Elite requirement for InstaSchedule Housecall Pro's “single strongest structural advantage.” It also admits QuoteIQ has no payroll, bookkeeping, business financing or expense cards, offers only phone-based GPS rather than vehicle trackers, and lacks conversational AI analytics, which it calls “a real gap and it is not close.” One correction: that page still cites Pro at $149.99. The current price is $199.99. See QuoteIQ's Housecall Pro page for its full argument.

Where QuoteIQ wins
- $29.99 entry plan, well under Housecall Pro Basic
- AI Estimator on every plan, including Essentials
- Satellite and roof measuring from the $99.99 Beginner plan
- Ten users on Elite versus eight on Housecall Pro Max
- AI receptionist available from the entry plan (credit-based)
- Online booking and job costing on Basic
- Payroll and other money tools QuoteIQ doesn't offer
- A Spanish-speaking crew app
- No card needed for the trial
- Five users on Essentials beats QuoteIQ Pro's four
The estimating gap is the big one for quote-driven trades. On QuoteIQ, you can describe a job, let the AI Estimator draft the line items, pull square footage from MapMeasure Pro and send Options or Package estimates so the customer picks a tier. Housecall Pro's pricing page doesn't list anything like the first two. If online booking is what you're weighing, QuoteIQ's InstaSchedule page shows what Elite adds.
Where Housecall Pro wins
Housecall Pro is the safer choice for shops that run on bookings rather than quotes. A cleaning or maintenance business that wants customers scheduling themselves from day one gets that on Basic, while QuoteIQ asks $299.99 for it. Job costing is another: Housecall Pro includes it on Basic; QuoteIQ starts it on Pro at $199.99. And the five-user Essentials plan is a sweet spot QuoteIQ can't match, because Pro stops at four seats and Elite jumps to $299.99.
The rest is about the back office. If you want payroll and money management in the same app as your jobs, or a crew that works in Spanish, QuoteIQ simply doesn't do it.
Which one by crew size
Solo. QuoteIQ Essentials at $29.99 is half of Housecall Pro Basic even on annual billing, and it already includes the AI Estimator and AI receptionist. Unless you need online booking from day one, QuoteIQ is the easy pick. Beginner at $99.99 adds measuring and a second seat.
Two to four people. QuoteIQ Pro ($199.99, four users) adds job costing, QuickBooks Online, the client portal and in-app calling and texting. Housecall Pro Essentials ($189 monthly, five users) is close on price, so the decision comes down to AI quoting versus cheaper online booking.
Five or six people. Housecall Pro's sweet spot. Its five-user Essentials beats QuoteIQ Pro plus extra $25 seats on price.
Seven to ten. QuoteIQ Elite covers ten users at $299.99 with booking, routing and inventory included; Housecall Pro Max covers eight.
Moving over
QuoteIQ's AI Smart Import accepts a Housecall Pro CSV and maps contacts, services, price book, estimates and invoices. Payment history stays behind. If you'd like help, QuoteIQ sells a Done For You setup for $299.99. Is Housecall Pro or QuoteIQ cheaper?
For one person, QuoteIQ: Essentials is $29.99/mo against Housecall Pro Basic at $79 monthly or $59 on annual billing. For teams it depends on size. Housecall Pro Essentials covers five users for $189 monthly, while QuoteIQ Pro covers four for $199.99, so a five-person shop can come out cheaper on Housecall Pro.
Does Housecall Pro need a credit card for the trial?
No. Housecall Pro's 14-day trial asks for no card, according to its pricing page. QuoteIQ's 14-day trial does require a credit or debit card and turns into a paid plan if you don't cancel in time. That's a real point in Housecall Pro's favour if you just want a look.
Which has online booking on the cheaper plans?
Housecall Pro. Online booking is on its Basic plan. QuoteIQ's customer self-booking, InstaSchedule, sits on Elite at $299.99/mo, and QuoteIQ's own comparison calls this Housecall Pro's strongest structural advantage. If booking from your website is a must on a small budget, that matters.
Does QuoteIQ do payroll like Housecall Pro?
No. QuoteIQ's comparison page says it offers no payroll, bookkeeping, business financing or expense cards. It does offer customer financing, card and ACH payments, and QuickBooks Online sync from the Pro plan. If you want payroll inside your field software, Housecall Pro is the better fit.
Is QuoteIQ available in Spanish?
Not that we can find. QuoteIQ's own Housecall Pro comparison says the app is English-only and concedes Housecall Pro has a Spanish-speaking crew app. If your techs work in Spanish, weigh that heavily, because a crew app nobody wants to use costs more than any subscription saving.
