Switching from Jobber to QuoteIQ: a no-drama migration plan

Most of the risk in switching field-service software isn't the new app; it's the week where nobody's sure which system holds the truth. This plan keeps Jobber running until QuoteIQ has earned the job.

Heads up: we're an independent QuoteIQ affiliate. If you start a subscription through our links we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We're not affiliated with QuoteIQ. How this site works.

Short answer

Export your Jobber clients, products and services, quotes and invoices as CSV files, then load them with QuoteIQ's AI Smart Import, which maps the columns for you. Past payment history doesn't come across. Run new jobs in QuoteIQ during the 14-day trial while finishing open work in Jobber, and cancel Jobber only after the last invoice is paid.

Is the switch worth it? A quick check first

Switching makes sense when QuoteIQ includes something you're paying Jobber extra for. QuoteIQ's Jobber comparison page builds its case on that: an AI receptionist, satellite measuring and a business phone line built in rather than bolted on. The same page concedes that Jobber comes out cheaper for some setups, and it admits "AI/communication usage may cost extra". Check Jobber's pricing page and our QuoteIQ vs Jobber comparison for your exact crew size before moving anything. Two things Jobber includes that QuoteIQ gates: a website on every plan (QuoteIQ's builder is $34.99/mo below Max) and online booking, which on QuoteIQ needs Elite.

Your import options

QuoteIQ's help center lists four ways to get customers in (importing contacts):

  1. AI Smart Import. Upload a CSV from Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Service Fusion or any CRM and the AI maps the columns. Covers contacts, services and price book, estimates and invoices. Every plan, web and mobile; it uses IQ Credits. Details in the Smart Import article.
  2. Phone address book. Fine for a solo operator whose customers already live in their phone contacts.
  3. Manual CSV import. The non-AI route where you match columns yourself.
  4. Done For You ($299.99) or Done For You Plus ($999.99). QuoteIQ's team handles the import plus a setup call; Plus is built for Pro and above and adds automations, inventory, price book, roles, training and priority support.

The one stated limit: "past payment history on those contacts is not imported". Your Jobber payment records stay your reference for anything already collected.

What to export from Jobber

Jobber lets you export its main lists as CSV files; menu names change, so check Jobber's own help for the current clicks. Export everything below, even what you don't plan to import, because an export after cancelling may not be possible.

Running both during the trial

QuoteIQ's trial lasts 14 days, needs a card and includes 250 IQ Credits. A large Smart Import uses credits too, so import clients and services first, check the result, and only then decide whether old invoices are worth importing. Then split the work cleanly:

Rebuild what doesn't travel

Automations, templates, message history and marketplace app connections don't come over in a CSV. In QuoteIQ, expect to rebuild email and text automations (Pro and up), your review request flow (automated requests need Elite), the client portal settings (Pro), your website contact form (Pro) and any online booking (InstaSchedule, Elite). If accounting runs through QuickBooks Online, connect it from Pro; Desktop isn't supported. Our QuickBooks integration page covers what syncs.

After you've switched

Expect a month of small surprises: a customer who used Jobber's portal, a recurring visit you forgot to recreate, a tech who preferred the old app. QuoteIQ's live support runs 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central every day per its pricing help article, and its video tutorials cover most settings. Switching from Jobber to QuoteIQ: common questions

Can QuoteIQ import my data from Jobber?

Yes. QuoteIQ's AI Smart Import reads CSV exports from Jobber and other CRMs and uses AI to map the columns. It covers contacts, services and price book, estimates and invoices. Past payment history on those contacts is not imported, so keep your Jobber payment reports. Smart Import is on every plan and uses IQ Credits.

What doesn't transfer from Jobber to QuoteIQ?

Per QuoteIQ, payment history on imported contacts doesn't come across. Anything that isn't in a CSV export, such as automations, templates, message history, Jobber's website and app-marketplace connections, has to be rebuilt by hand. Plan to set up email and text automations, review requests and your booking form again in QuoteIQ.

Should I cancel Jobber before starting the QuoteIQ trial?

No. Run them side by side. Import a copy of your data into QuoteIQ, put a handful of new jobs through it, and keep Jobber as the system of record until you're confident. Cancel Jobber only after your open invoices are collected and you've exported its reports, ideally timed to the end of a Jobber billing period.

Is QuoteIQ cheaper than Jobber?

It depends on what you add. Jobber Core starts at $49 a month and QuoteIQ Essentials at $29.99. QuoteIQ's own comparison concedes Jobber is cheaper for some setups, while QuoteIQ wins when you'd otherwise pay for Jobber add-ons like an AI receptionist or measuring. Price your exact feature list on both before switching.

Does QuoteIQ offer help migrating from Jobber?

Yes, for a fee. Done For You costs $299.99 and includes the data import and a one-on-one setup call. Done For You Plus costs $999.99, is built for Pro plans and above, and adds automations, inventory, price book setup, roles, a training session and priority support. Most small shops can self-serve with Smart Import instead.
