QuoteIQ AI Estimator: How It Works and What It Costs
QuoteIQ's AI Estimator turns a job description and a few photos into a draft estimate you review and send. It sits on every plan, alongside two helpers: AI CoPilot for editing quotes and Autopilot for CRM chores. Here's what each one does and what it uses up.

Worth using on any plan, as a first draft, not a final price. The AI Estimator is included from the $29.99 Essentials plan and costs roughly 5–15 IQ Credits per estimate, so credit burn is small. The catch is accuracy: it only knows what you tell it, so quantities, materials and local labor rates still need your eye before the quote goes out.

What the AI Estimator does
You start a new estimate and describe the job by typing or speaking. You can attach up to five photos, or pull in numbers from MapMeasure Pro if you've already measured the property. The AI then asks five follow-up questions tailored to that job before it drafts anything.
What comes back is a list of line items, each marked with a High or Medium confidence score, plus suggested add-ons with an attach-rate percentage next to them. The draft lands in the normal estimate editor, where you edit, send, collect a signature and later invoice it. QuoteIQ says the process turns "a 20–34 minute manual quote into a 4–7 minute job". That's a vendor claim.

AI CoPilot and Autopilot
- AI CoPilot lives inside the estimate and invoice editors. You chat or talk to it to make changes, with six quick actions: Add a Service, Set Discount, Change Tax, Client Message, Add Deposit and Mark as Additional. A toggle lets you choose Auto Accept, where changes apply straight away, or Review, where you approve each one.
- AI Autopilot, labelled "Ask AI" in the app, handles CRM tasks by voice or text. QuoteIQ describes it as "55 integrated tools across 13 categories", and each action previews its credit cost and asks you to confirm before it runs.
Both are on every plan and both draw on IQ Credits.
Which plan includes it
| Plan | Monthly | AI Estimator, CoPilot, Autopilot | IQ Credits / mo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $29.99 (1 user) | Included | 500 |
| Beginner | $99.99 (2 users) | Included | 1,500 |
| Pro | $199.99 (4 users) | Included | 3,000 |
| Elite | $299.99 (10 users) | Included | 5,000 |
| Max | $699.99 (20 users) | Included | 8,000 |
Every plan gets the AI tools; higher plans just get a bigger monthly credit allowance.
What it costs in IQ Credits
QuoteIQ's AI Estimator page says a generated estimate "typically" costs 5–15 credits, and your balance is shown before you generate. CoPilot and Autopilot are charged per prompt or completion, again with the cost shown first. Some things to know about the credit system:
- Credits reset each billing cycle and don't roll over.
- The free trial gets a flat 250 credits on every plan, enough to try the estimator many times but not to lean on credit-heavy tools like the AI receptionist.
- Top-ups start at 2,500 credits for $25.
- If you run out, AI features stop until the reset or a top-up.

How a contractor uses it day to day
The realistic workflow is to let the AI produce the skeleton while you're still on site or in the truck, then spend your time on judgment calls. Build out your price book first so the AI has your own prices to work from. A typical pattern: snap photos during the walk-through, describe the job, answer the five questions, then tidy quantities and materials. Use CoPilot for fiddly phone edits like deposits and discounts.
Limits and gotchas
- On every plan, including $29.99 Essentials
- Low credit cost per estimate
- Confidence scores flag the lines to double-check
- Output is a normal, editable estimate
- The AI doesn't know site conditions you haven't supplied
- Pricing suggestions need checking against your local costs
- Credits don't roll over and the trial has only 250
- Vendor time savings are claims, not independent tests
QuoteIQ's own caveat is the important one: "AI assistance does not know about site conditions you have not supplied." Treat confidence scores as a prompt to look harder, not as a guarantee.
How it compares with Jobber and Housecall Pro
Jobber's and Housecall Pro's published pricing pages list quotes or estimates on their entry plans, along with a price book on Housecall Pro. Our research doesn't cover whether either one has an equivalent AI estimate generator, so check Jobber's pricing page and Housecall Pro's pricing page for their current AI tools. What QuoteIQ's own comparison page does point out is that Jobber has no built-in property measurement, which is the main reason the estimator pairs well with QuoteIQ's MapMeasure Pro.

AI Estimator questions
Is the QuoteIQ AI Estimator free?
It's included on every QuoteIQ plan, starting with Essentials at $29.99/mo, so there's no separate add-on fee. Each generated estimate does use IQ Credits, typically 5 to 15 according to QuoteIQ, and your plan includes a monthly allowance from 500 credits on Essentials up to 8,000 on Max.
How accurate are the AI estimates?
They're a draft. Each line gets a High or Medium confidence score, and QuoteIQ itself warns the AI doesn't know site conditions you haven't supplied. Check quantities, materials and local labor costs before sending. The more detail and photos you give it, and the better your price book, the less you'll need to change.
What's the difference between AI CoPilot and AI Autopilot?
CoPilot works inside the estimate and invoice editors, making changes such as adding a service, setting a discount or adding a deposit, with an Auto Accept or Review mode. Autopilot, shown as Ask AI in the app, handles wider CRM tasks across 55 tools and previews each action's credit cost before it runs.
Can I try the AI Estimator during the free trial?
Yes. The 14-day trial includes the AI features with a flat 250 IQ Credits on every plan. At 5 to 15 credits per estimate that's room for plenty of test quotes, as long as you don't spend the balance on AI calls. A credit or debit card is required to start the trial.
Can the AI Estimator use photos or measurements?
Yes. You can attach up to five photos to the job description, or bring in measurements from MapMeasure Pro. Note that MapMeasure Pro itself needs the Beginner plan or higher, so on Essentials you'd describe dimensions yourself or attach photos instead.
