QuoteIQ MapMeasure Pro: Satellite Measuring Explained
MapMeasure Pro lets you measure a lawn, driveway, roof or fence line from satellite imagery and drop the number straight into an estimate line. It's one of the features reviewers mention most, and it's not on the entry plan. Here's how it works and what the AI extras cost.

A strong reason to choose Beginner over Essentials if you quote outdoor work. MapMeasure Pro starts on the $99.99 Beginner plan and the basic measuring uses no credits. The AI extras do: AutoMeasure is 100 IQ Credits per completed measurement and a Property Lines lookup is 50. It's far less useful for interior trades.

What MapMeasure Pro does
You open MapMeasure Pro from inside an estimate, find the property on satellite imagery and trace the area or line you need. "Save to Estimate" fills the quantity on the line item, so the square footage or linear feet become the basis for the price without retyping. It runs on phone, tablet and desktop.
The tool has grown a set of sub-features:
- Area and Linear Mode. Area for lawns, driveways, decks and roofs; linear for fences, gutters and edging.
- AI AutoMeasure. Lets the AI trace the measurement for you, at 100 IQ Credits per completed measurement.
- Measurement Library and Groups. Save and organise measurements so a property's sections stay together.
- Wayback / Imagery Compare. Older aerial images to compare against the current one.
- Property Lines. Pulls parcel boundaries, at 50 IQ Credits per pull.
- Street View and "Open Zillow". Quick property previews while you quote.
- Roof & Pitch Measurement. AI-assisted roof measuring, also Beginner and up.

Which plan includes it
| Plan | Monthly | MapMeasure Pro | Roof & Pitch, Street View, Zillow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essentials | $29.99 | Not included | Not included |
| Beginner | $99.99 | Included | Included |
| Pro | $199.99 | Included | Included |
| Elite | $299.99 | Included | Included |
| Max | $699.99 | Included | Included |
The jump from Essentials to Beginner is $70 a month, and it also adds a second user, QuoteIQ Cam, expense tracking, Google Calendar sync and advanced analytics. If measuring is the main reason you're looking at QuoteIQ, Beginner is the realistic starting plan.
Credit costs
Manual tracing doesn't appear in QuoteIQ's list of credit-charged actions. The two AI-powered parts do:
| Action | IQ Credits |
|---|---|
| AI AutoMeasure | 100 per completed measurement |
| Property Lines lookup | 50 per pull |
Beginner includes 1,500 credits a month, which is 15 AutoMeasures if you spent nothing else. Credits don't roll over, and top-ups start at 2,500 for $25. Our IQ Credits guide shows how this sits next to AI estimating and calls.
How a contractor uses it day to day
The common pattern is quoting before the site visit, or instead of one. A lawn, pressure-washing or sealcoating business can take an address over the phone, trace the area, and send a priced estimate the same day. Linear Mode does the same for fence and gutter runs. Pair it with the price book, where a saved per-square-foot service multiplied by the measured quantity gives you the total, and with the AI Estimator, which can take MapMeasure numbers as an input.
Save measurements to the library so a repeat customer's lawn or driveway doesn't have to be traced again next season. If the imagery looks off, Wayback lets you compare against older aerial shots before you commit to a number.
Limits and gotchas
- Quantities flow straight into estimate lines
- Area and linear modes cover most exterior jobs
- Works on phone, tablet and desktop
- Manual tracing uses no credits
- Not on the $29.99 Essentials plan
- AutoMeasure and Property Lines use credits
- Satellite images can be dated or blocked by trees and shade
- Little use for most interior trades
Satellite measuring is only as good as the image. Overhanging trees, shadows and recent construction can all throw a trace off, so confirm big or unusual jobs on site. For electricians, plumbers and most indoor work it's a nice-to-have at best.
How it compares with Jobber and Housecall Pro
QuoteIQ's own Jobber comparison makes measuring its headline difference. It says Jobber has "no built-in property measurement": roofs go through the EagleView integration (first five reports free), lawns through the Deep Lawn integration, or you measure by hand in Google Maps. That's QuoteIQ's description of a competitor, so confirm it on Jobber's site. Our research doesn't cover measuring tools for Housecall Pro; check Housecall Pro's page.
QuoteIQ's own write-up is on its MapMeasure Pro page, with property previews covered on its Street View page.

MapMeasure Pro questions
Which QuoteIQ plan includes MapMeasure Pro?
MapMeasure Pro starts on the Beginner plan at $99.99/mo for two users, and it's included on Pro, Elite and Max. It isn't on the $29.99 Essentials plan. Roof and pitch measurement, Street View and Zillow Quick Access follow the same Beginner-and-up rule in QuoteIQ's help-center plan matrix.
Does MapMeasure Pro use IQ Credits?
Manual tracing isn't on QuoteIQ's list of credit-charged actions. The AI parts are: AI AutoMeasure costs 100 IQ Credits per completed measurement and a Property Lines lookup costs 50 per pull. Beginner includes 1,500 credits a month, and unused credits don't carry over to the next cycle.
Can MapMeasure Pro measure roofs?
Yes. QuoteIQ offers Roof and Pitch Measurement, described as AI-powered roof measuring, on Beginner and higher plans. As with any satellite tool, check pitch and complex roof sections in person on larger jobs, because imagery angle, shade and recent changes to the building can affect the result.
Which trades get the most out of it?
Exterior and area-based trades: lawn care, landscaping, pressure washing, sealcoating, fencing, gutters, roofing and similar work priced by square foot or linear foot. Electricians, plumbers and other mostly interior trades will get far less value, so they may not need to move up to Beginner just for this tool.
Can customers measure their own property?
Yes, through InstaQuote rather than MapMeasure Pro. InstaQuote lets customers outline an area on a satellite map when you allow it, and the result attaches to their self-generated quote. InstaQuote needs the Elite plan at $299.99/mo, so it's a much bigger step up than MapMeasure Pro.
