QuoteIQ Virtual Call Team: The AI Receptionist and What It Costs

Virtual Call Team is QuoteIQ's AI receptionist. It answers your line around the clock, qualifies callers, filters spam and records each call, and it can make outbound calls in batches. It's on every plan. It's also the feature where usage costs add up fastest, so the numbers matter more here than anywhere else.

Short answer

Available from $29.99/mo, but budget for usage. It runs on IQ Credits at 125 per minute, which means a plan's whole allowance covers only about 4 minutes on Essentials and 40 on Elite. QuoteIQ's help center also lists a $1.25 base fee per call. Use it for after-hours and overflow, and watch the balance closely.

What Virtual Call Team does

Which plan includes it

QuoteIQ's feature page says it's "available on every QuoteIQ plan". The plan you pick decides how many credits you have to spend on it. QuoteIQ's own page converts each allowance into minutes, assuming every credit goes to calls:

PlanMonthlyIQ Credits / moMax AI call minutes if all credits used
Essentials$29.99500About 4
Beginner$99.991,500About 12
Pro$199.993,000About 24
Elite$299.995,000About 40
Max$699.998,000About 64

Those minutes are shared with everything else that uses credits, including AI estimates, AutoMeasure and Property Lines lookups. The table on QuoteIQ's page also shows older plan prices; the prices above are from the current pricing page.

What it costs: credits and per-call fees

The feature page states the rate plainly: "Uses IQ Credits (125 IQC = 1 minute)". Top-ups are 2,500 credits for $25, which works out to 20 minutes, or about $1.25 a minute.

QuoteIQ's help-center article on IQ Credits adds a second set of charges: "Each call also has a $1.25 base fee, then is billed at $1.25 per minute after the first 60 seconds. An auto-recharge of $25 is applied if your call balance goes below 10 minutes." It isn't clear whether that applies on top of the credit charge or describes the same cost a different way. We couldn't confirm which, so treat $1.25 per call plus $1.25 a minute as the figure to budget for until QuoteIQ shows you otherwise in your account.

On that basis, a three-minute call would be the $1.25 base fee plus two billed minutes, or about $3.75. On credits alone it would use 375 IQC, most of the Essentials allowance. The free trial includes a flat 250 IQC, which is about two minutes of calls. More on budgeting in our IQ Credits guide.

How a contractor uses it day to day

The sensible use is as a safety net, not a full-time receptionist. Set it to pick up after hours and when you're on a roof or under a sink, fill in the knowledge base so it can answer the basic questions (do you serve this area, roughly what does this cost, how soon can you come), and let it save the caller as a contact for you to call back. Batch outbound calls draw on the same balance.

Make several test calls before going live, and check your balance weekly for the first month until you know your call volume.

Limits and gotchas

What works
  • On every plan, including Essentials
  • Answers 24/7 and saves callers as contacts
  • Knowledge base and Voice Lab for setup
  • Outbound and batch calling included
Watch out for
  • 125 IQ Credits per minute adds up fast
  • Help center lists a $1.25 per-call fee and $25 auto-recharge
  • Credits don't roll over
  • Trial's 250 credits cover about two minutes

Credits reset each billing cycle and don't carry over. If you run out, AI features stop until the reset or a top-up. Note too that ClientHub, QuoteIQ's business phone with two-way calling and texting, is a Pro-and-up feature, so confirm during the trial how calls reach the AI on a lower plan.

How it compares with Jobber and Housecall Pro

QuoteIQ's own page compares itself with Jobber's AI Receptionist, which it describes as "$99/mo on top of their Grow plan … inbound only." That's QuoteIQ's description; check current terms on Jobber's pricing page. Our research doesn't cover Housecall Pro's answering options, so check Housecall Pro's page. For another reference point, Markate's pricing page lists an AI receptionist at $1 per call.

QuoteIQ's own description is on its Virtual Call Team page, and the business phone is covered on its ClientHub page.

Virtual Call Team questions

How much does QuoteIQ's AI receptionist cost per minute?

Virtual Call Team uses 125 IQ Credits per minute. Credit top-ups are 2,500 for $25, which is about $1.25 a minute. QuoteIQ's help center also lists a $1.25 base fee per call, then $1.25 per minute after the first 60 seconds, with a $25 auto-recharge when your call balance drops below 10 minutes.

How many AI call minutes come with each plan?

If every credit went to calls, about 4 minutes on Essentials, 12 on Beginner, 24 on Pro, 40 on Elite and 64 on Max, according to QuoteIQ's own table. Those credits are shared with AI estimates, measuring and other features, so real call minutes will usually be lower.

Is Virtual Call Team on the Essentials plan?

Yes. QuoteIQ says it's available on every plan, including Essentials at $29.99/mo. The limit is credits: Essentials includes 500 a month, about four minutes of calls. For regular use you'd either move up a plan or budget for top-ups, which start at 2,500 credits for $25.

Can I try the AI receptionist on the free trial?

Yes, but the trial includes a flat 250 IQ Credits on every plan, which is about two minutes of AI calls. Use them on test calls to hear how it handles your questions and knowledge base. A credit or debit card is required to start the 14-day trial.

How does it compare with Jobber's AI Receptionist?

QuoteIQ's own page says Jobber's AI Receptionist costs $99/mo on top of the Grow plan and is inbound only, while Virtual Call Team also makes outbound and batch calls. That's QuoteIQ's description of a competitor, so check Jobber's current pricing page before comparing total costs.
