QuoteIQ vs ServiceTitan: small-shop tool or enterprise suite?

This isn't a close fight in either direction. ServiceTitan is enterprise software for big trade companies. QuoteIQ is a flat-priced, AI-first tool for small ones. The only real question is which side of that line you're on.

Heads up: we're an independent QuoteIQ affiliate. If you start a subscription through our links we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We're not affiliated with QuoteIQ. How this site works.

The short version

Under ten people and quoting most jobs? QuoteIQ gives you AI estimating, measuring, scheduling and payments from $29.99/mo with no contract and a trial you can start today. Running a large, multi-tech shop with memberships, a busy dispatch board and finance reporting? ServiceTitan is built for you and QuoteIQ isn't.

If you have 20+ techs, read this first

We'd rather lose a click than send a big shop to the wrong tool. QuoteIQ's own comparison says it plainly: “We're not going to pretend a $29.99/mo platform does everything an $8B public company does.” It then lists where it falls short: custom dashboards, technician scoring and marketing ROI attribution; membership and service agreements tied to equipment; a large-team dispatch board for 20+ techs; and multi-department, multi-location, franchise and enterprise accounting. If several of those are on your must-have list, book the ServiceTitan demo.

Everyone else, keep going. Most owner-operators and crews of two to ten never touch half of what ServiceTitan sells, and they feel the cost of it.

ServiceTitan tiers per ServiceTitan's pricing page: Starter (dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing, pricebook), Essentials (adds mobile estimates and payroll) and The Works (adds advanced reporting, commissions and memberships).

A quick self-test

Answer these five honestly. Three or more yeses, and ServiceTitan deserves the demo:

  1. Do you dispatch more than 20 technicians on a normal day?
  2. Do maintenance memberships tied to customers' installed equipment make up a big share of revenue?
  3. Do you run more than one location or department, each needing its own books?
  4. Do you need to trace every booked job back to the marketing campaign that produced it?
  5. Do you pay techs on commission and want payroll run from the same system?

Mostly noes? You're the shop QuoteIQ is designed for. Your bottleneck is probably getting quotes out fast and following up, and QuoteIQ attacks exactly that with AI drafting, measuring and automated follow-ups (email and text automation start on Pro). Our QuoteIQ for HVAC page looks at that trade in detail.

The cost question

ServiceTitan doesn't publish a price, so any figure you read is second-hand. QuoteIQ's comparison claims ServiceTitan “charges $245–$500 per technician per month, requires 12+ month contracts, and costs $5K–$50K+ to implement.” We couldn't verify any of those numbers on ServiceTitan's site, so treat them as QuoteIQ's view, not fact. Ask ServiceTitan for written terms if you're seriously comparing, and set them beside QuoteIQ's published plans.

QuoteIQ's side is public. Essentials $29.99 (1 user), Beginner $99.99 (2), Pro $199.99 (4), Elite $299.99 (10) and Max $699.99 (20), plus $25 for each extra user. Plans are month to month, and paying yearly gets you two months free. Fees are non-refundable once paid, which is worth knowing even without a contract. QuoteIQ's ServiceTitan comparison lays out its full case, and our pricing guide explains each tier.

Moving down from ServiceTitan

Some shops outgrow the overhead rather than the software. If that's you, export customers, price book, estimates and invoices to CSV and use QuoteIQ's AI Smart Import, which names ServiceTitan as a supported source. Payment history won't come across. Plan around QuoteIQ's gaps before you cancel anything: no payroll, QuickBooks Online only (no Desktop), and online booking and route optimization only on Elite. Our QuoteIQ pros and cons lists the rest.

Give yourself a parallel month if you can. Run new quotes through QuoteIQ while ServiceTitan finishes open jobs and memberships, then cut over once your price book and recurring customers are in. If your team needs help, QuoteIQ's Done For You setup ($299.99) covers the data import and a one-on-one setup call, and Done For You Plus ($999.99) adds automations, inventory, roles and a training session. Live support runs by email and text every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central, with AI help around the clock.

ServiceTitan vs QuoteIQ: common questions

How much does ServiceTitan cost compared with QuoteIQ?

ServiceTitan doesn't publish prices; its pricing page says “Request Pricing” and describes per-technician pricing. QuoteIQ claims ServiceTitan runs $245–$500 per technician per month with long contracts and costly setup, but we couldn't verify those figures. QuoteIQ publishes its plans: $29.99 to $699.99 a month, month to month.

Is QuoteIQ a real alternative to ServiceTitan?

For small shops, yes. For large, multi-location operations, mostly no. QuoteIQ itself says a $29.99 platform doesn't do everything ServiceTitan does, and concedes enterprise reporting, service agreements tied to equipment, large dispatch boards and multi-location accounting. Under about ten people, QuoteIQ covers what most owners actually use.

Does ServiceTitan offer a free trial?

No. ServiceTitan's pricing page offers a demo, not a self-serve trial. QuoteIQ offers a 14-day free trial on every plan, though it requires a credit or debit card and converts to paid if you don't cancel. That makes QuoteIQ far easier to test with real jobs before committing.

Can I import ServiceTitan data into QuoteIQ?

Yes. QuoteIQ's AI Smart Import lists ServiceTitan among the CRMs it accepts by CSV. It maps contacts, services and price book items, estimates and invoices. Past payment history isn't imported. For bigger moves, QuoteIQ sells Done For You setup at $299.99 or Done For You Plus at $999.99.

Which is better for a 25-technician HVAC company?

Probably ServiceTitan. At that size you need a dispatch board built for 20+ techs, membership agreements tied to equipment, technician scorecards and marketing attribution. QuoteIQ's own ServiceTitan page concedes those areas. QuoteIQ Max covers 20 users plus $25 per extra seat, but it isn't built for that complexity.
